The Introduction of the Special Issue

Insight- Material Science is a newly launched, international and open access academic journal which comprises the outstanding achievements of the world's leading researchers in material science. The mission of this special issue is to provide the metallurgical community with a reliable source of information relevant to current developments and discoveries in welding industry. This issue also acts as a forum for exchanging interdisciplinary scientific knowledge from a chemistry, physic and an educational point of view. Despite a number of research programs around the world associated with welding Challenge and impressive successes and growing interest in this field, there is still a wide gap between research results on the laboratory scale for fundamental research and their application in industries. Therefore, this issue discuss the aspects of one of the four prominent manufacturing processes namely Welding. We are sure that this journal will stimulate the researchers as well as practicing engineers in the industry to apply scientific techniques to manufacturing.

The Research Scope of the Special Issue

·Activating flux in fusion welding,New Developments in Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)

·Numerical modelling and Simulation of GTAW
