The Introduction of the Special Issue

The main focus of applied mathematical research is on modeling, computer science and its applications to transport problems, financial engineering, telecommunications, and financial economics. Research in this field uses linear, dynamic and stochastic optimization, fractional stochastic derivatives, Markov and Levy processes to study various applied problems such as portfolio optimization, sensor networks and price dynamics in financial markets.
