Extrapolation-Newton Iterative Solution for Nonlinear Equation

    by Raghad I. Sabri

    Insight - Mathematics, Vol.1, No.1, 2019; 777 Views, 11 PDF Downloads

In this paper, the solution of the nonlinear equation is evaluated using Newton method, and then an extrapolation procedure with Aitken method is applied to improve and accelerated the Newton solution by reducing the number of iterations in order to find the roots of the nonlinear equation with minimum iterations. Several examples are solved using Newton Aitken technique. The comparison based on depending on the number of iterations.

Modified Hermite Polynomials for Solving Quadratic Optimal Control Problems

by Suha N. Shihab, Samaa Foud

    Insight - Mathematics, Vol.1, No.1, 2019; 398 Views, 2 PDF Downloads

The main purpose of this paper is the construction an explicit formula for modified Hermit function differentiation operational matrix and other new properties. Then an efficient approximate method is investigated for treating quadratic optimal control problem with the aid of the derived operation matrix. The technique essentially based on reducing the optimal problem indirectly to a system of linear algebraic equations in the expansion of unknown coefficients. The obtained numerical results are compared with the exact one.

Characteristics of Solar Cell Outdoor Measurements Using Fuzzy Logic Method

by Mohammed Rasheed, Mohammed Abdelhadi Sarhan

    Insight - Mathematics, Vol.1, No.1, 2019; 1523 Views, 7 PDF Downloads

In this paper proposes a fuzzy logic Simulink in order to calculate a maximum output parameters of solar cell, for each index, three functions describing membership to the fuzzy subsets favorable, the temperature (temp.), open circuit voltage ( ) and short circuit currant ( ) have been defined. A fuzzy logic calculates the modules according to both the degree of membership of the indices to the subsets (L), (M), (H) and a set of decision rules. Then the modules are aggregated into the indicator parameter output of solar cell is presented.

Numerical Solution of Nonlinear Equations Using Multi-step Homotopy Perturbation Algorithm

    by Rasha Jalal Mitlif

    Insight - Mathematics, Vol.1, No.1, 2019; 534 Views, 1 PDF Downloads

In this article, some new improvement for fifth order multistep method [1] is adopted with the idea of homotopy perturbation procedure to reach the solution of nonlinear equations in minimum number of iterations. Suggest way to identify a start system of the proposed method is also included within this work. The obtained results are compared in terms of the iterations number and the application of the presented method based on studding several examples.

Call for Papers for the Special Issue: Insight - Mechanics

2019-10-17

Minimizing thermal and hydraulic irreversibility is an important process in obtaining the optimal geometrical and physical parameters of the different system and devices. In this respect, the selection of optimization criteria and physical quantities to undergo the optimization process depends on a case-by-case basis.

The aim of this special issue is to present different ways of mathematically modeling  thermal and hydraulic irreversibility of the technical system, process or device.'
