Abstract

The study is a pilot study conducted by Shuyi Zhou, a postgraduate student in The University of Manchester. It aims at modify the curriculum design of the welcome week of the TESOL program based on the Need Analysis of TESOL members. Quantitative methods such as questionnaires are used. The gap between Target Situation Analysis and Present Situation Analysis shows that the members’ oral skills, the needs of academic writing instruction, and the openness to new cultures need to be improved.
